Grossnickle Insurance, Inc. was founded in 1965 by G.E. “Shag” Grossnickle offering quality insurance products and service to Northeast Missouri. Shag was a longtime community member and supporter of KBSA Ball Team “Shag’s”, Kiwanis Club, and Kirksville Booster Club.

In 1973, John B. Grossnickle joined his father Shag in the insurance business and continued to serve its customers for the next 50 years. John was a community advocate, supporting and sponsoring many teams and organizations in the area. He always offered a friendly and warm hello to anyone he met, whether it was at a sporting event, fundraiser, or passing on the road.

The Grossnickle Insurance company continues under the ownership and management of NEMO Bancshares, Inc. NEMO Bancshares, Inc. is a locally owned and managed company that is the financial holding company affiliate of Alliant Bank. NEMO Bancshares has been doing business in Northeast Missouri since 1995 and is excited to continue the excellent customer service the Grossnickle family has always provided.

The Grossnickle Insurance company will continue to maintain and enhance insurance carrier relationships to provide competitive quote options and added value to customers. Andy Gerdes leads the Grossnickle team as head of operations. Mary Grossnickle and Myra Shoop continue to be available and an integral part of the team.
